BMW-WSM7 §31/§32 Factory: cap nut for telescopic fork 120–130 N·m (12.77 and ’79 sheets); 1981 sheet: 120 N·m (88), and the slotted adjusting nut beneath it is set to zero play, never to a torque. Steering-bearing friction 350 ±20 Ncm. Bearing preload road check: bars fall left on the centre stand. NOT VERIFIED for R45/R65 or the later GS / R100R front ends.
